Centenary's Thrift Shop
Centenary Thrift Shop closed after 37 years. We are grateful to God and those who served in this ministry for so many years. We shared this video of their history & also many of the great examples we can learn from this ministry!
Important announcement about Centenary's Thrift Shop
After 35+ years, we have determined that it is time to close our Thrift Shop. This has not been an easy decision. Several factors have led to this conclusion.
After being inactive for 19 months due to COVID, we realize our aging work force no longer has the enthusiasm or stamina to continue. Also, in recent years, we have experienced a drop off in interest by our customers in the community.
Thank you to our faithful workers and all in our congregation who have supported the Thrift Shop with your prayers, donations, work on the sale days, and purchases.
Thrift Shop Representative,
Marge & Diena

We found some pictures to share of the Thrift Shop over the years. Thank you to all the volunteers who served in this ministry in the last 37 years!
What is the Centenary Thrift Shop?
One of Centenary's most enthusiastic ministries is our Thrift Shop, still going strong after 35 years. Thrift Shop proceeds benefit Centenary ministries and several local charities that serve our community. Each Tuesday morning, a group of dedicated volunteers meet for a few hours of work and fellowship. Working together, our tasks include sorting of donated articles, pricing items, displaying merchandise and interacting with customers. Excess merchandise is periodically delivered to The Food Initiative of Greater Stanislaus (formerly InterFaith Ministries).
Each day, we welcome the public, and our church family, to browse and purchase from a wide selection of items. Merchandise includes clothing for men, women and children; linens; books; shoes; household items; kitchenware; jewelry; decorations; toys; puzzles and miscellaneous categories.
Donations are always welcome! Our limited space precludes accepting furniture and other large items. Donations may be brought to the thrift shop Tuesday mornings (please make sure we are open), or if this is not convenient, please contact the office to make arrangements.
As we have attempted to portray, our thrift shop is an exciting place to work. We always welcome new volunteers. Whether on a weekly basis, or less frequently, your service in this ministry will be greatly appreciated.
It is rewarding, knowing we are serving our Lord, our church and our community. This is why we are here!
