Day 20: The Work of God
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” John 9:3 (NIV)
How many times while we are suffering have we asked ourselves, “Why me? Why is this happening to me? Is God punishing me? This is not fair.”
Jesus healed the blind man so that “the work of God might be displayed in his life.” Even if we don’t experience a miraculous healing, God is at work through our suffering for His glory. God may also use our struggles and suffering to connect us to others who can help us and walk through the trials with us. God may also use us to help others based on our experiences.
Next time we are tempted to ask God “why,” instead we can ask, “What has God provided for me? Where is God showing up in this trial? Who is God putting in my life to help me?”

Prayer Focus: Dear Jesus, thank you for the assurance of your presence as we go through trials. Remind us of your ways and give us the strength, comfort and peace we need to finish well for Your glory. In your precious name I pray. AMEN
