Bob Collins Senior Pastor
Pastor Bob was born in Dinuba, California. He and his family attended the Dinuba United Methodist
Church and it was there, in a Sunday School class, that he first met Cheryl. The two first became friends and married in 1976.
Newly married, Pastor Bob and Cheryl both returned to school; Cheryl attending Reedley Junior College and Pastor Bob attending seminary in Fresno.
With the help of God, they made it through those busy, busy days, thinking that would probably be the busiest they would ever be, little did they know.
In 1978, two major events touched Pastor Bob's and Cheryl's lives. First, they were appointed to their first church (actually churches); Pastor Bob and Cheryl served the Armona and Laton United Methodist Churches. Second, their first son, David, entered the world.
Two years after David’s birth saw the arrival of Pastor Bob and Cheryl’s second son, Steven.
In 1983 they were transferred to the Chester United Methodist Church.
1988 brought another change to the family as Pastor Bob and family were transferred to the Hughson United Methodist Church. Ten years in Hughson saw the boys grow up and Cheryl return to college. Cheryl completed her education at California State University, Stanislaus and now works for the Stanislaus County Office Of Education.
In 1998, a phone call changed Pastor Bob's and Cheryl’s lives forever. Cheryl and Pastor Bob were to be appointed to Centenary United Methodist Church.
The years have been a great blessing. Both Pastor Bob and Cheryl have fallen in love with the congregation that is called Centenary and know that you will too.
